Face Mask Policy for GMAT™ Exams in Test Centers

GMAC is closely monitoring the progression of COVID-19, ongoing public health guidance and working closely with partners to respond to this situation. Our top priority is the safety our test takers, test center staff, and our community. As test centers begin to re-open,   test center procedures have been modified.

Face Masks

Beginning May 12, 2020, all test takers may be required to wear a face mask while taking the exam in a test center (subject to test center requirements)*. You will also be allowed to wear disposable gloves. Please ensure you bring your own personal protective equipment (PPE) with you to your testing appointment. Equipment will not be provided at the testing center.

Face mask types allowed

Surgical or cloth masks may be used. Your mask can be made of any material that appropriately covers your mouth and nose but does NOT cover your ears. Your face mask will also need to be removable, should visual inspection be required.

If you arrive without a face mask

If you arrive without a face mask, you will not be allowed to test. You will be given the opportunity to reschedule your appointment to a future date at no cost to you.

Taking your exam with a face mask

You will be required to wear your face mask for your entire exam. Face masks and/or gloves will need to be removed during the check in process for identity verification and taking your photo.

While in the common access area of the test center, you will be expected to keep your mask on. You can remove your mask if having food or water during your break.

What if my face mask is removed during my exam?

We understand that this is a new experience for everyone. If your mask is removed during the exam, your test administrator will request that you put it back on. Failure to comply with test administrator instructions could result in the cancellation of your exam and your exam fee will be forfeited.

Social Distancing

To comply with social distancing requirements within waiting areas and the test center, daily appointment volumes have been appropriately reduced. A minimum six-foot distance will be required when in the testing center or waiting areas.

Sanitizing Procedures

Our testing centers have implemented enhanced health and safety measures. This includes providing hand sanitizer and tissues within the test center and in waiting areas. Check-in equipment and testing stations, including the keyboard, mouse, chair, and computer terminal, are sanitized after every use and waiting areas are sanitized throughout the day.
