An Online GMAT™ To Support Your Business School Goals
The GMAT™ Online exam is an online and remote proctored solution developed to support candidates and schools during the disruption to test center-based delivery during the COVID-19 pandemic. While open to all test takers, the GMAT Online exam format is intended to support candidates working to meet upcoming b-school application deadlines.

GMAT™ Online Exam Structure
The GMAT™ Online exam includes the Quantitative, Verbal and Integrated Reasoning sections (omitting the Analytical Writing Assessment Section). Each section will contain the same number of questions and time per section as the current in-person GMAT exam. The sections are as follows:
- 31 Quantitative / 62 minutes
- 36 Verbal / 65 minutes
- 12 IR / 30 minutes
*Please note that the Section Order for the GMAT™ Online exam is fixed at this time as Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, Integrated Reasoning
The total exam time is approximately 3 hours -- 2 hours 45 minutes for the exam and an additional 15 minutes to check into the online proctored system. You will be allowed one, optional 5-minute break before you begin the Integrated Reasoning section.
Disability accommodations – If you are planning to request a disability accommodation for the GMAT™ Online exam, do not schedule your appointment until your accommodation is approved. Please begin by following the process to register as a test taker with disabilities. Accommodations available include 50% and 100% extended time along with an extended break of 10 minutes.
Whiteboard Usage During the Exam
The GMAT™ Online exam does not permit the use of a physical noteboard and pen during the exam. To assist you with the ability to do scratch work and/or take notes, there is an online whiteboard feature you can access during the exam. Read the full details here.
To enable comparability, the GMAT™ Online exam will have the same type and number of items and section times as the exam administered in test centers. It will also use the same scoring algorithm and score scale for the Section Scores and Total Score as the test center-based version.
When your score is posted in your mba.com account, you will see individual section scores as well as the total score on your exam. You will also be able to view the percentiles of your score in your score report. GMAT™ online exam scores are valid for 5 years and will not count towards your 12-month and lifetime GMAT limits.
Sending Your Score
With the GMAT™ Online exam you are in control of your score and can decide when you are ready to send it to programs. You will have the opportunity and flexibility to send score reports to as many programs as you wish for free. After you review your score in your mba.com account, you will have an opportunity to select your programs. Your score will be posted in your mba.com account within 7 business days of completing your exam.
Note that currently with the GMAT™ Online exam that there will not be an opportunity to preview your score at the end of the exam.
To increase flexibility, appointment times are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and you can schedule an exam appointment up to 24 hours before an available testing window. Appointment dates are available beginning April 20, 2020 until June 15, 2020. We will continue to monitor conditions and look to add future appointment dates as needed.
The GMAT™ Online exam is available in most locations, with the exception of: Mainland China, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan and Slovenia due to regulatory and local data privacy rules. Please note that currently proctoring support for the GMAT Online exam is only offered in English.

Managing Your GMAT™ Online Exam
The GMAT™ Online exam registration is $200 USD and includes as many score reports as you wish to send to your selected schools. You will have an opportunity to select your schools after your you have received and reviewed your score.
You can reschedule or cancel your exam appointment for a fee up to 24 hours before your scheduled exam time by logging into your mba.com account.

We are working to make some accommodations available in the coming weeks including 50% and 100% extended time and extended breaks.
Rescheduling or Cancelling Your Exam
You can reschedule or cancel your exam appointment up to 24 hours before your scheduled exam time by logging into your mba.com account. The fees for each are as follows:
US$25 – Reschedule
US$100 – Cancel
No appointment changes can be made within 24 hours of a scheduled appointment time.
At this time the GMAT™ Online exam can only be taken once. Currently, score cancellations and retakes will not be available, with the exception of verified technical issues.
The GMAT™ Online Exam will not count toward your yearly nor lifetime exam attempt limits.
