The GMAT exam is comprised of four sections – Analytical Writing Assessment, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative, and Verbal. At the test center, just before your exam begins, you can select the order in which you want to complete the sections.

Three options will be available for your exam's section order:
- Analytical Writing Assessment, Integrated Reasoning, Quantitative, Verbal (original order)
- Verbal, Quantitative, Integrated Reasoning, Analytical Writing Assessment
- Quantitative, Verbal, Integrated Reasoning, Analytical Writing Assessment
There is no “correct” or “recommended” section order to select. This choice simply gives you more control and flexibility to take the GMAT exam based on your strengths and testing preferences. Learn more.
