Registration and Payment
Registering for NMAT by GMAC™ exam is simple and convenient. Get started with these easy-to-follow steps:
- Start by clicking on “Register for NMAT by GMAC™” on mba.com/nmat and create an account. Be sure to use a valid email address.
- Complete your NMAT profile by adding your mobile number and selecting the country where you would like to take the exam under Manage NMAT Profile.
- Check your email for a verification email and follow the steps it includes to verify your account. Be sure to check your junk or spam email folders or, if needed, click the “Resend Email Verification” button shown on the mba.com/nmat page.
- Click the “NMAT by GMAC™ Dashboard” button on the mba.com/nmat page and access the Candidate Dashboard.
- Complete the application on the Candidate Dashboard. Note: Your name and date of birth must exactly match your Photo ID.
- Select the schools you would like to receive your scores in the School Preferences section. Up to five (5) programmes are included in your registration fee. More score reports can be sent for an additional fee of $5 + applicable taxes.
- You must upload a photograph that bears likeness to you and the photograph on your Photo ID. This photograph will be included on the admit card that you must show to the proctor.
- Once you submit your registration form, the Book Exam Slot button on the candidate dashboard will be visible to schedule the exam.
- Schedule your exam and make payment of the exam fee.

Schedule the Exam
- Click on the “Book Exam Slot” button from your candidate dashboard to reach the scheduling system.
- Select “Online Proctored at Home” option from the drop-down which will appear in the popup.
- The NMAT scheduling system will open as a new web page.
- Select your preferred exam date and time from available slots. Note: Time slots are automatically shown in your time zone.
- Click on “Confirm” to proceed to pay the exam fee.
- You can complete the payment through a secure gateway using either of the methods — Credit/Debit Card or PayPal. Note: The payment methods and acceptable cards may vary across countries.
- Once payment is completed, a confirmation screen will be shown.
- Close the window and re-login or refresh the candidate dashboard.
- Click on the “Admit Card” button to download the admit card. Note: You will be able to download your admit card from your dashboard once the payment is realized.
Retakes
You may take the NMAT by GMAC™ exam a maximum of three times in a testing cycle (from July 1 to June 30). This includes the first attempt plus up to two retakes.
Retake payment and scheduling become available after your previous attempt. After paying the retake fee, click the Retake Exam button, then select location, date, and time.
If your scorecard shows a valid score, you may book your next attempt immediately — but the exam date will be at least 15 days later.
If your scorecard shows No Show, NDA Refused, or Exam Incomplete, you may schedule a new exam slot 24 hours later.
Note: NMAT by GMAC™ registration and B-School application are separate processes. Please check university/B-school websites regularly for eligibility criteria and updates regarding programs accepting NMAT scores.
