"An MBA will help me develop as an entrepreneur."

Akkshay, MBA Student

My name is Akkshay Chugh and I am a member of INSEAD’s MBA Class of 2015. I currently live in Mumbai, India, but have lived in the US for nine years, having completed high school and college there. I graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 2007.

Upon graduating from Penn, I worked in Oil & Gas Investment Banking in Houston, TX at Jefferies. I later moved to India and joined Ernst & Young’s Advisory Services group. In 2012, I started a US-India cross-border financial and business advisory firm with offices in LA and Mumbai. I have also launched my Internet start-up in the MBA space called gotMBA.co.

While I have learned valuable lessons in running my companies and managing advisory transactions, an INSEAD MBA, with its accelerated general management approach will strengthen my fundamental concepts to grow my businesses. As an entrepreneur, an MBA will help me identify opportunities and anticipate disruptive technologies or business trends. A 10-month MBA allows me to step out of the day-to-day operational activities of my businesses and take a more holistic view, so that I can focus on the vision and strategy of my respective companies.

INSEAD’s multi-cultural student body will offer me a diversity of experiences and perspectives to adapt to the evolving global business environment.

Entrepreneurship

I am an Entrepreneur. Why pursue an MBA?

"In early 2012 I founded my own US/India cross border M&A Advisory firm, I have also launched an internet start-up called gotmba.co. So why did I decide to go to b-school having already launched and running my companies?"
