GMAT™ Reschedule and Cancel Price Changes

What fees are affected by this change?

Based on feedback we have received from GMAT test takers, we have restructured the fees associated with rescheduling and cancelling GMAT appointments into a tiered pricing system. The goal of this restructuring is to provide more flexibility for test takers and reduce the financial burden for those who need to make last-minute changes to their appointment. Effective September 26, 2019, appointment rescheduling and cancellation fees will be structured in three tiers based on  your scheduled appointment date:

Reschedule Fee Tiers:

  • 1 to 14 days prior to appointment: $150
  • 15 to 60 days prior to appointment: $100
  • More than 60 days prior to appointment: $50

Cancel Fee Tiers:

  • 1 to 14 days prior to appointment: $200 ($50 refund)
  • 15 to 60 days prior to appointment: $175 ($75 refund)
  • More than 60 days prior to appointment: $150 ($100 refund)

The no-show policy has not changed. No appointment changes can be made or modified within 24 hours of the exam appointment time and candidates who do not show up for the test will be responsible for the full exam fee.

You may be participating in a special program where some fees may differ from the ones outlined above. Please refer to your offer document for the information.

Per regulatory requirements, some markets including the EU have local refund policies, please see Location specific pricing and regulations. Please contact GMAT Customer Service by phone or by live chat via mba.com.  Call-center hours and contact information can be found on mba.com.

Why is GMAC making this change?

We are changing the fee structure to give test takers more flexibility and convenience. Based on feedback we have received from GMAT test takers, we have enhanced the fee structure for rescheduling and cancelling GMAT appointments to provide more options for test takers. We have also lowered the financial burden on those who need to make last-minute changes to their appointment. In addition, we have reduced the fees for those who make changes 60 or more days before their appointment.

I scheduled my GMAT exam prior to the fee changes and now I need to reschedule or cancel my appointment. What fees should I now expect to pay?

GMAT appointment rescheduling & canceling fee changes will be effective September 26, 2019, and any fees paid after that time will be subject to the new fee structure. If you scheduled your GMAT exam prior to the fee changes and are rescheduling after these changes are in effect, you will be subject to the new rescheduling and cancellation fees.

What if I don’t show up for my GMAT exam?

We understand that life happens and sometimes your plans change at the last minute. That’s why we have made it easier for you to reschedule and/or cancel your exam appointment and we encourage you to do so more than 24 hours in advance of your scheduled exam appointment. We have lowered the fees for last minute changes, so you are no longer charged the full exam fee if you cancel last minute.

However, if you do not show up for your GMAT exam at your scheduled time, you will forfeit your entire exam fee.

Please visit mba.com for the most updated GMAT fees and to find the pricing for your test jurisdiction.

Please note: Similar fee changes went into effect in the European Union in April 2019.

How do I determine which GMAT reschedule and/or cancellation fees I will pay?

GMAT fees will be determined by the test-center location of your scheduled GMAT exam and how far in advance of your scheduled appointment date are you making this change.

How will my GMAT price be determined if I reschedule my exam at a different test center?

GMAT registration and rescheduling fees have always been based on the test-center location.

If you are rescheduling to a different test center that falls within the same currency borders, there will be no impact to your GMAT registration fee; you will only be responsible for the rescheduling fee.

If you are rescheduling your exam at a test center with a different fee or currency structure than your original test center (for example, in some parts of Europe), your original appointment will be cancelled and refunded in full, and you will then be charged for the new GMAT registration and rescheduling fees associated with your new test center. Rescheduling will need to be done by contacting Customer Service by phone or by live chat via mba.com. Your call-center fee will be waived. Your call center hours and phone number can be found on mba.com.

Please note: Similar fee changes went into effect in the European Union in April 2019. The information within this FAQ document may not be applicable for EU candidates.
