What is GMAT™ Official Advanced Questions?
The GMAT™ Official Advanced Questions is a compilation of 300 hard Quantitative Reasoning and Verbal Reasoning questions, similar to hard questions found in the GMAT Official Guide series.
What are “hard” GMAT™ questions?
What makes some GMAT questions harder than other questions is the level of complexity. Hard GMAT™ questions typically involve multiple reasoning tasks or concepts and require more than one step to solve.
Are the questions in the GMAT™ Official Advanced Questions new?
Some questions have appeared in earlier editions of the GMAT™ Official Guide series; others have never been published before.
Who should use the GMAT™ Official Advanced Questions?
The GMAT™ Official Advanced Questions is designed for test takers who have studied the questions in the GMAT™ Official Guide series and are looking for additional practice with hard questions.
When should I use the GMAT™ Official Advanced Questions in my studying planning?
We recommend using the GMAT™ Official Advanced Questions for additional practice after you have studied with the GMAT™ Official Guide series and are familiar with the different types of GMAT questions.
What types of questions are included and how are the questions organized?
Official Advanced Questions includes 300 hard GMAT questions from past exams—150 verbal reasoning and 150 quantitative reasoning questions.
The questions are organized by fundamental skill, the same skills that are measured on the Enhanced Score Report. Below are the type and number of fundamental-skill questions included in Advanced Questions:
Verbal Reasoning
- Critical Reasoning: construction/plan (23) and analysis/critique (26)
- Reading Comprehension: identify inferred idea (31) and identify stated idea (19)
- Sentence Corrections: communication (30) and grammar (21)
Quantitative Reasoning
- Geometry (29)

Will the GMAT™ Official Advanced Questions get me the score I want?
We can’t guarantee a specific score as everyone has varying levels of experience that they bring to the exam. Additional practice with hard questions, however, can help improve your test-taking skills and boost your confidence on exam day so that you perform at your best.
Can I use the GMAT™ Official Advanced Questions instead of the GMAT™ Official Guide series?
You could, but we would not recommend it. The GMAT™ Official Guide series contains over 1,500 real GMAT™ questions and covers more types of questions and content areas than the GMAT Official Advanced Questions. The GMAT™ Official Advanced Questions offers only additional hard Quantitative and Verbal Reasoning questions and is intended to be a supplement to the GMAT Official Guide series. Is there a downloadable eBook version of the GMAT Official Advanced Questions?
