During your GMAT™ online exam you will have the opportunity to choose to use a physical whiteboard, online whiteboard or both for scratch work and note taking. As you prepare for your exam, determine which option or combination works best for you and your test taking strategy.
Physical whiteboard
If you plan on testing with a physical whiteboard and you need to acquire one, please schedule your exam appointment to allow for additional shipping time.
Whiteboard Requirements:
- 1 erasable whiteboard no larger than 12 inches x 20 inches (30 centimetres x 50 centimetres)
- Up to 2 dry erase markers
- 1 dry erase whiteboard eraser
The following items are NOT allowed*:
- Whiteboards with grids or other markings
- Whiteboards with background colors
- Paper
- Pen / Pencil
- Permanent Marker
- Tissues, Paper Towels, Napkins
- Whiteboard Spray
- Paper in a clear slide
- Boogie Boards
- Chalkboards
- Writing Tablets

Online Whiteboard
During your GMAT™ online exam you will have access to an online whiteboard throughout your exam that can be opened and closed using the whiteboard icon in the exam navigation bar at the top of your screen. With the online whiteboard you will have almost an endless canvas to work on, so there is no need to erase your work as you move through your exam.
