The Graduate Management Admission Council™ (GMAC™), makers of the GMAT™ exam and a global association of leading business schools, has announced the launch of a new Chinese website: gmat.com.cn. The GMAT Chinese website, together with its already live WeChat Official Account GMAT考试官方社区 (WeChat ID: gmatofficial) will constitute GMAT's digital information matrix in China.

With the launch of the GMAT Chinese website, prospective business school applicants in China will be able to access authoritative and diverse information from an official channel in their native language more easily.

“China has over the years grown into the second largest region for GMAT, after only the United States,” said Sangeet Chowfla, president and CEO of GMAC. “As vaccines become more widely available and hope for economic recovery begins to take root, we expect to see more mobility and look forward to more Chinese students starting and returning to their journey of graduate business education in their own country or abroad, benefiting from the new Chinese-language platforms we are offering today.”

The site’s locally relevant content will help Chinese prospective applicants obtain more accurate, comprehensive, and in-depth information about graduate business programs, exams, events, and products and services, strengthening the connection between young business talent in China and the world's leading business schools.

The vision for gmat.com.cn

GMAC’s intention in launching the GMAT Chinese website is to create better solutions for business schools and Chinese applicants, and to explore, elevate, and strengthen the connections between them.

The GMAT exam’s English language site, mba.com, is home to a diverse array of content on business school and careers, in addition to being the registration site for the GMAT exam. Annually, the site receives more than 7 million visits per year from prospective business school applicants all over the world. Site visitors from China, however, mainly use the site to register for GMAT at the latter stages of their decision-making process and explore the valuable English language content only to a limited extent.

To enable Chinese prospective students access to all mba.com and GMAC has to offer and to bridge the gap between the solutions on GMAC's website and the local solutions provided by other industry participants, GMAC established the official GMAT Chinese website to provide reliable, authoritative information for China's young business talent, and to protect Chinese applicants from misleading information from informal channels.

What you’ll find at gmat.com.cn

You can now visit the GMAT Chinese website easily by entering "gmat.com.cn" into the address bar, where you will see a user-friendly navigation interface that has been adapted to the reading preferences and usage habits of Chinese applicants, allowing young Chinese business talent to easily obtain the official and authoritative information about the GMAT exam in their native language and in a cultural-friendly environment.

The GMAT Chinese website not only hosts valuable global business study information, but it also has abundant localized content and activities for Chinese prospective applicants. On the website, the GMAT team and leading business schools around the world will share information about GMAT FAQs, GMAT preparation plans, and mock examination materials, in addition to providing an overview of international study destinations, tips for applying to business schools, and scholarship guidelines. The site will periodically promote exciting offline activities such as GMAT lunch meetings.

Reigniting interest in international study post-COVID

The global graduate education market for business management has begun to show a positive trend of gradual and steady recovery this year in the post-COVID era, especially among young business talent in China interested in studying internationally.

From an international perspective, China's pandemic prevention and control remains among the best in the world, and coupled with growing vaccination rates globally, the negative impact of the pandemic on international study abroad will be reduced to near zero in the not too distant future. Chinese prospective applicants’ interest in studying abroad never disappeared but was only ever postponed for a year amidst the pandemic. Now, the pent-up demand will be unleashed in what is expected to be a wave of interest in studying abroad and the GMAT exam.

From the attitude of the world's leading business schools, they have always been eager to welcome elite Chinese business talent. It can be said that the GMAT Chinese website will open a window for Chinese business talent to connect with top business schools all over the world, promoting the already strong bond between Chinese prospective applicants and global business schools, and conveying the value of leading business schools towards business education.

We believe that with the launch of the GMAT Chinese website, this exclusive digital platform will provide Chinese prospective students with highly relevant, authoritative, and high-quality content that promotes the bond between Chinese candidates and the world's leading business schools.
