What is it?
CareerLeader®—an interactive, online, self-assessment tool that translates powerful insights about your skills and passions into concrete recommendations for business career paths that are right for you. The tool was developed by two Harvard Business School career counselors, with 40 years of collective experience in career services, to help students and others interested in careers in business make the right choices to acheive their goals. So, whether you are trying to enhance or change your career or just trying to find the job that suits you best, the CareerLeader® assessment will give you knowledge you can use to plan your next steps.
How does it work?
You take a series of three tests online. The answers you provide give you results about your ideal career paths. The specific tests are:
- The Business Career Interest Inventory (BCII)
- The Management and Professional Reward Profile (MPRP)
- The Management and Professional Abilities Profile (MPAP)
Whereas the BCII defines the range of careers you might be suited for, the MPRP narrows this universe by assessing the value you place on certain work-related rewards. The MPAP further focuses you on your ideal career paths by systematically evaluating your business skill strengths and weaknesses with regard to specific careers.
What do the results look like?
The CareerLeader® results, derived from the three tests, are extensive and unique to you. There are 26 different major business career paths in the database from which your specific results will be compiled. Check out the sample CareerLeader report.
How long does it take?
The developers of CareerLeader® suggest that you take your time to do the assessments. On average, people have told us that it takes them about 90 minutes to complete all three tests. Why does it take this long to complete CareerLeader®? Because the tests are comprehensive (more than 100 questions in each assessment). Because some of the questions are thought provoking. Because investing more time in your answers will yield better results.
