One-year full-time MBA programs usually have strict prerequisites for work background or academic training.

One-year programs are a great fit for career enhancers – those who wish to continue in the same job function or industry but at a higher level. Features of one-year programs:

  • They last 11 to 16 months
  • Less time is spent on core classes or there is limited opportunities for specialization
  • Students usually relocate for one-year programs, and they do not work

  • Internship opportunities are limited because there are no extended breaks between semesters
  • Some employers do not view one-year programs favorably
