This document will provide you with the information you need to successfully enter the GMAC "New year, New You" Sweepstakes ("Contest"). These Terms and Conditions form a binding contract between the Graduate Management Admission Council® ("GMAC") and you, as an entrant into the Contest. By entering you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you breach a provision of these Terms and Conditions, you will forfeit your entry into the Contest. Contest Description: Answer the following question:
How will taking the GMAT exam and a graduate degree in management education change my life?
Answer the above question using the website in 500 characters (including spaces) or less to enter.
Term: You can begin registering and submitting entries for the Contest on January 3, 2012 at 12:00.01 am EDT and all entries must be submitted by January 11, 2012 at 11:59:59 pm EDT ("Term"). You are responsible for knowing the time zone in your location and GMAC is not responsible for errors in delay or transmission of your entry. We recommend that you do not wait until the last moment to enter.
How to Enter: Submit your entry by accessing the Contest website at www.mba.com/sweepstakes(the "Contest Website").
All entrants must provide the following information: an email address and your country of residence.
All entries must be submitted in English and the entry is limited to 500 characters or less ("Submission") including spaces. Once you submit your entry, no further changes can be made to the entry even if there is time remaining in the Term.
You must have the full ownership rights to your Submission, and you certify that your Submission is your own work. The Submission must not contain material that is inappropriate, indecent, obscene, hateful, discriminatory, defamatory, slanderous, libelous, or unlawful.
Judging: All Submissions will be judged by a team of 4 people looking at how creatively you present your career goals and how a graduate degree in management education will help you achieve your goals. The decisions of the judges will be final in all instances.
The Submission with the highest scores from the judges will be selected as the Grand Prize Winner. Four (4) Submissions randomly chosen from all the entries received will be selected as First Place Winners. You may only win one of the prizes.
One or about January 12, 2012, GMAC will contact the First Place winners. On or about January 17, 2012, GMAC will contact the Grand Prize winner. Return of any notification e-mail as undeliverable, or the inability of GMAC to contact a potential winner, may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner based on the judging criteria described above.
Prize amounts: One (1) Grand Prize Winner will receive a GMAT® exam voucher valued at USD $250. Two (2) First Place Winners will each receive a set of three GMAT study guides valued at USD $72.85. Two (2) additional First Place Winners will each receive GMAT exam vouchers valued at USD $50. The approximate retail value of all prizes is USD $569. All taxes are the responsibility of winners. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received and the skill of the entrants in preparing their Submissions.
You acknowledge and agree that GMAC may keep your Submission indefinitely and disclose it for any purpose, including but not limited to: (a) comply with legal process; (b) enforce these Terms and Conditions; (c) respond to claims that any Submission violates the rights of third-parties; or (d) without undertaking a duty to do so, protect the rights, property, or personal safety, our users and the public.
Eligibility: LIMIT: ONE (1) SUBMISSION PER PERSON. Subsequent Submissions will be disqualified. All Submissions become the property of GMAC and will not be acknowledged or returned. GMAC is not responsible for: (i) lost, late, incomplete, invalid, illegible, or misdirected Submissions, which will be disqualified; (ii) for failed, partial or garbled computer transmissions; (iii) for technical failures of any kind, including, but not limited to electronic malfunctioning of any network, hardware or software; or (iv) for any error, human, technical or otherwise. GMAC reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any Submission not in compliance with these Terms and Conditions. You may receive an additional entry for the First Place awards by completing one of the following activities:
Registering on www.mba.com as a new user, or
Updating your profile and opting into GMASS® Search Service on www.mba.com, or
Trying one of the GMAT exam sample questions on www.mba.com.
VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. Anyone over the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence is encouraged to participate, unless prohibited by applicable law. All entrants must have a valid email address to enter the Contest, which will serve as our primary means of communicating with you and your team (if applicable). This Contest is void for citizens and legal residents of Brazil, Cuba, Iran, Italy, Syria, Myanmar/Burma, North Korea, Sudan, and the province of Quebec, Canada. Current employees of GMAC, their affiliates, agents and their immediate families and people living in their household and Contest judges are not eligible to enter the Contest. GMAC Board Members, however, are eligible to enter the Contest. All rounds of judging will be blind and no judge will be provided with the identity of any entrant during the judging period. GMAC, at its sole discretion, shall determine eligibility of any individual, entity or team entry, and may disqualify an entry at any time for any reason.
Conditions to participating: By entering a Submission into the Contest, you are agreeing to these Official Rules of this Contest, the transfer of your personal information and your Submission to the United States, where GMAC and its data processors are located, and the judging and use of your Submission by GMAC.
Acceptance of any prize related to this Contest constitutes permission for, and winners' consent to, GMAC and its agencies or assigns to use the Submissions and the names and/or likenesses of any winner for advertising and promotional purposes, in any media, without further notice, compensation, consideration, review, or consent, except as prohibited by law.
GMAC reserves the right to disqualify any Submission from this or any future Contest if, in its sole discretion, GMAC reasonably believes that any person has attempted to undermine the legitimate operation of GMAC or the website by cheating, deception, or other unfair practices, or has tampered with any of GMAC's websites, the submission process, the judging process, violates these Official Rules, or acts in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or annoys, abuses, threatens, or harasses GMAC, its agents, its assigns or any other participant.
All decisions of GMAC regarding this Contest are final.

Governing Law: The Contest and the rights and obligations of all entrants and Submissions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without effect to any principles of conflicts of law, and the federal law of the United States. Should any provision of these Terms and Conditions be held to be void, invalid, unenforceable, or illegal by a proper legal authority, the validity and enforceability of the other provisions shall not be affected.
