What are the GMAT fee changes for North America?

Effective February 4, 2020, GMAT registration fees will increase in the United States and Canada to US$275. Note that the US territories (Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the North Mariana Islands) will not be included in the price change.

This change will only impact the GMAT registration fee. Note that fees for other products and services before and after your GMAT exam (appointment reschedule, appointment cancel, prep products, additional score reports, enhanced score report, online score cancel, score reinstate) will not be impacted by this change.

When will the price changes go into effect?

The GMAT Fee price change will go into effect midnight local time on February 4, 2020, in the United States and Canada.

How do I determine which GMAT fee I will pay?

GMAT fees are determined by the test center location of your scheduled GMAT exam. If you plan to take the test at a test center located in the United States or Canada you will pay the GMAT fee of US$275, for registrations made on or after midnight February 4, 2020.

Note that the US territories (Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the North Mariana Islands) will not be included in this fee change.

Why is GMAT changing its fees?

GMAC is committed to providing an experience to test-takers and schools through a GMAT exam that is fair, secure and reliable, that helps test-takers to perform their personal best on test day, and which fosters meaningful connections between students and graduate management programs.  

GMAT registration fees in North America have been unchanged since 2005 despite increased costs to deliver the exam.  This new fee structure enables GMAC to continue making investments and enhancements towards the quality and integrity of the GMAT exam while delivering a streamlined testing experience that allows test-takers to perform at their best on exam day.  

This commitment is highlighted by a variety of enhancements GMAC has made over the last several years:

• Reducing the length of the exam and overall time at the test center
• Allowing candidates to select their section order for the exam
• Introducing the My Recommendations tool to help test-takers discover best-fit programs
• Removing cancelled score indicators from score reports sent to schools
• Displaying unofficial scores to test-takers prior to making an accept/cancel decision
• Creating a GMAT screen tutorial online for test-takers to review prior to their exam
• Investing in industry-leading test security to ensure fairness and ethical practices 
• Investing in expansion of test center availability worldwide

I scheduled my GMAT exam prior to the registration fee change, and now I need to reschedule or cancel my appointment. What fees should I expect to pay? 

GMAT pricing changes will be effective February 4, 2020, and apply only to all new appointments made on or after that date. If you scheduled your GMAT exam prior to the fee changes and choose to reschedule your exam, you will only pay the applicable reschedule fee, you will not pay the difference in exam fee*. 

If you scheduled your GMAT exam prior to the fee changes and choose to cancel your exam, you will pay the applicable cancel fee. You will pay the new GMAT fee if you register after February 4, 2020, for a new appointment.

No fee exceptions will be provided. 

*If you reschedule your exam to a test center in a different world region, you may be subject to local fees. 

I have a GMAT gift card or voucher that I have not used. Can I still use it? 

Yes, if you have a gift card or gift voucher that was purchased on mba.com you can still use any un-redeemed value towards the GMAT exam.
